GCP Girl: Tell me a bit about your character.
SG: My character name is Vito Cabone. Muzzy Van Hossmere discovered Vito after he saved her tour bus from a horrific bus crash near his family farm. She was instantly wooed by his Southern charm and chiseled looks, and offered him a spot in her company. Years later, we discover Vito and Muzzy marry and live out the rest of their days performing together.
GCP Girl: Tell me about some of your previous shows.
SG: This is my second show at the GCP. "Rent" was a blast!
GCP Girl: Why did you audition for "Thoroughly Modern Millie"?
SG: It was the relationships I grew during "Rent" that brought me back for "Millie." The GCP is an amazing family made of many great people, and I couldn't wait to be part of another show. Plus [director] Dan Christophy is a living legend.
GCP Girl: What is your favorite musical number in the show?
SG: I really like the scene when Trevor and Miss Dorothy first meet. I've watched it almost every night for two weeks and still can't make it through with a straight face. Bryan and Amy do a great job.
GCP Girl: Why should people see "Millie"?
SG: "Millie" is a hilarious show that shows you it's okay to step outside of your comfort zone and discover new things. Try everything twice, second chances are blessings. You'll be laughing from start to finish.
GCP Girl: "Thoroughly Modern Millie" is based on a 1960s movie starring Mary Tyler Moore and Julie Andrews. What other movies would you like to see turned into stage musicals?
SG: I would love to see "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly" turned into a musical. Anyone out there wanna work together on that, let me know.
GCP Girl: For Millie, moving to New York City on her own is a big adventure. What do you dream of doing?
SG: If I were to go on a big adventure, I would spend a year traveling the country doing all of the toughest jobs. Crab fishing, ranch hand, gold mining, gator hunting, etc... learning as much as possible. I dream of being the most interesting man in the world. I sometimes drink Dos Equis.
GCP Girl: What is your dream role?
SG: Other than Blondie in the future "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly" musical, I would love to play Caractacus Potts in "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang." Toot Sweets!
GCP Girl: Tell me something you'd like everyone to know!
SG: I want to thank everyone involved with the GCP in any way. You all have blessed me in many ways, and I am grateful for the opportunity to build a relationship with each of you. I am blessed.
Thanks, Stephen! "Thoroughly Modern Millie" returns tonight for the third week of the run!
